OXVA Xlim 4: Specs, Colours and How It Compares to the Rest of the Xlim Range

OXVA has announced the Xlim 4, the fourth generation of the refillable pod system that has quietly become one of the most-recommended MTL kits in the UK. It is not in stock yet. This post is a straight look at the confirmed specifications and how the 4 sits against the Xlim kits we already stock not a review, because nobody outside OXVA has used one long enough to write a real one.

If a shop is publishing a glowing hands-on review of a device that has not shipped, you are reading marketing copy. We will update this post with a proper assessment once the kits land and we have used them.

One clarification worth making early, because OXVA's international material causes confusion every launch: the cartridge is 3ml in some markets and 2ml in the UK and EU. That is the TPD limit, not a downgrade specific to this device — every legal pod sold here is capped at 2ml.

What Has Actually Changed

Three things, and only one of them is likely to change your day-to-day.

1. The battery — 1600mAh, up from 1500mAh

The Xlim Pro 3 and Xlim 3 Ultra are both 1500mAh. The Xlim 4 adds 100mAh. In practice that is a marginal gain — perhaps thirty minutes of moderate use. If you are coming from an Xlim Go Lite or Xlim SQ at 900–1000mAh, the jump is far more noticeable.

2. UniTech 3.0 cartridge

This is the meaningful one. OXVA quotes 30-second priming and a redesigned anti-leak seal. Leaking and dry hits after a pod change are the two complaints that come up most often with any pod system, so a cartridge revision matters more than a wattage bump. We will hold judgement on whether it delivers until we have run some through.

3. The One Ring Light

A ring indicator that reports power level and battery status, with customisable glow effects. Useful if you switch power levels often; cosmetic if you set it once and forget it. It is not a reason to upgrade on its own.

The Ten Finishes

OXVA is launching the Xlim 4 in ten colours across three families:

• Carbon and leather — Black Carbon, Silken Black Leather, Silken Brown Leather, Silken Blue Leather, Silken Champagne Leather
• Nacre — Nacre White, Nacre Pink, Nacre Purple
• Aurora Petal — Aurora Petal Pink, Aurora Petal Purple

On past Xlim launches the leather and Nacre finishes sell through first and the plain carbon lasts longest. If you want a specific colour, order early rather than late.

Should You Wait for It?

Three honest answers.

If you already own an Xlim Pro 3 or 3 Ultra: probably not. You are looking at 100mAh more battery and a revised cartridge. Unless your current kit is leaking or the battery has degraded, there is no functional reason to replace it.

If you own an older or smaller Xlim — Go, Go Lite, SQ, SE: yes, worth waiting. The battery difference between 900–1000mAh and 1600mAh is real, and you get the newest cartridge generation.

If you are moving across from prefilled pods or a disposable-replacement device: the Xlim 4 is a reasonable first refillable, but understand the trade. A refillable kit costs more up front and you buy e-liquid separately — then it costs considerably less to run. If you would rather not deal with filling anything, a prefilled kit is the better fit and there is no shame in it.

What E-Liquid Works With It

The Xlim 4 is refillable, so the kit does not include e-liquid. Two safe starting points:

• Nic salts — smoother at 20mg, and the better match for the tighter MTL airflow most Xlim users run.

When is the Xlim 4 released in the UK?

OXVA has announced the device but UK stock dates move. We will update this page when ours lands. In the meantime, the OXVA collection shows everything we have available now.

Will my old Xlim pods fit the Xlim 4?

The Xlim 4 uses the UniTech 3.0 cartridge. If you own an earlier Xlim, check which cartridge generation your spares are before assuming they carry over message us and we will confirm.

Is the Xlim 4 2ml or 3ml?

UK and EU units are 2ml. The 3ml figure in OXVA's global material applies to markets without TPD limits.

How does the Xlim 4 compare to the Xlim Pro 3?

Same 30W ceiling, 100mAh more battery, newer cartridge, plus the ring light. If you are choosing between them at launch, price will likely be the deciding factor.

Is it a disposable?

No. Single-use disposables were banned in the UK in June 2025. The Xlim 4 is a rechargeable refillable kit — you fill your own pods and recharge over Type-C.

In Short

The Xlim 4 is an iteration, not a reinvention, and OXVA has not pretended otherwise. The cartridge revision is the part worth watching; the battery bump is marginal; the ring light is a nice-to-have. If you already run a recent Xlim, hold. If you are on an older or smaller one, this is the upgrade to wait for.
